This event was organized by the National Human Rights Council in Casablanca, Morocco, and spanned two consecutive days. It was held in collaboration with the Regional Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights for the Middle East and North Africa.

He explored legislative frameworks and national protection mechanisms, highlighting the legislative guarantees in the Bahraini Constitution, the nation's commitment to international human rights treaties, and the national legislation concerning criminalization and punishment. He also discussed policies, plans, and effective protection mechanisms and outlined the extensive efforts of NIHR in combating torture.

The workshop aimed to review the international standards related to the absolute prohibition of torture and mistreatment and their prevention. It discussed the necessary protocols and legislative guarantees needed to enforce this ban and explored relevant best practices. The session also emphasized international standards, the United Nations' efforts, and its mechanisms in preventing and combating torture and mistreatment, along with providing an overview of national legislation in this domain.
